Description
In September 2005, Lawrence & Anjy started the process to adopt a child from China . It will take about 10-14 months before they come home with their child, and this blog will chronicle some things along the way. There are categories dealing with the amazing amount of paperwork, the milestones reached, and even a new one for a quite unexpected event. 17 months old
Cameron turned 17 months old and we decided to
chop off all his hair to celebrate. It was getting pretty shaggy, but he looks
like such a big boy now. Who is this big boy?? On another note... we've decided
it's time to say bye bye to bottles. Today was Day 1 and it did NOT go well.
But we made it half the day and he got his nighttime milk bottle, so we'll see.
We're going to try and cut out the daytime ones first. But we can tell he's
using the bottle almost like a pacifier, which he didn't use to do before, so
it's definitely time to get rid of them. We're so used to bottles... and the
rocking and bottle routine for naps and bed. It's going to be an interesting
transition....

Cameron posing
He was so cute in his new outfit and I was trying
to get him to stand still for a second so I could get a picture. It was so
funny because he was actually trying to listen to what I was saying and ham it
up for the camera. Like he was a model or something.

Ridiculous
Someone takes after his Daddy... I couldn't get
him to look at me long enough to take the picture, he was so glued to the TV
watching The Wiggles. He won't stay sitting for long, I guess that's not such a
bad thing.

Playing at the park with best friend Isabel
We love to go and visit my friend Jennifer and
her little girl Isabel (2 months younger). Cameron always has a great time
playing with Isabel and one of his favorite things is to push her around.
First, it was pushing her in her stroller and now he's pushing her in her buggy!
He can even maneuver it through doors, down the sidewalk, etc. He just tilts it
backwards and turns it (Jennifer is not amused when he does this.. good thing
Isabel is strapped in!)

Update on Mr. Man
Thought it would be a good time to post an update
on the new and amazing things Cameron is doing... Let's
see....
points to pictures of items (I'll say where's the ball, cat, dog, etc)
says words (plane= bane) (please=peed) (dog=oof off or he pants like a dog) Tedi, Mama, Dada, Mommy, Daddy, Juice, zoo
points to body parts
"sniffs" flowers
does many baby signs
got lots of teeth coming in
That's all I can think of off the top of my mind.. it constantly amazes me what he is capable of. Sometimes I feel I need to do a better job teaching him things because he's obviously very capable of learning. I guess I still think of him as a baby and he couldn't possibly do all this big kid stuff. sniff sniff

Visit to the zoo- and Cameron is 16 months old
One of our favorite places to hang out when the
weather is nice is at the zoo. Cameron can roam around and he's just starting
to really get into seeing some of the animals. So, we have a membership and try
to get over there at least once a week. It gets us out of the house and Cameron
loves to be out and about.
This particular day was weird because he kept tripping and falling. He fell at least 3 times and 1 time he actually drew blood. He must have been having a growth spurt or something because he just seemed "off". Poor little guy. It breaks my heart when he gets hurt.

Cameron really loves the big wheel that Grandma
Toni got him. He pushed it everywhere! He's not able to push the pedals yet
but he gets around. :-)

Christmas 2007
Poor Cameron was really sick from about
12/19-12/31 with Mono and Strep Throat. He wasn't feeling well and wasn't into
presents or anything, poor guy! These pictures were taken a couple weeks before

Fri - November 23, 2007
Visit to Denver and First Snow!
We flew to Denver to spend Thanksgiving with
family and Cameron got to play in snow for the first time. He didn't really
like it as much as mommy! :-) We took a road trip to the mountains and stopped
at one of the ski resorts and did the chair lift up for some amazing views. It
was such a beautiful sunny day, albeit only 19 degrees. We got to have a nice
warm lunch, including smores and then it was time to head back while Cameron was
still in a decent mood.

Long Weekend at Disneyland
We decided to take a long weekend and drive to
Disneyland. I think it took about 6 hours and we stayed right across the street
from the park, so we could walk and forth as needed. We had a great time,
Cameron did really well. Disneyland is amazing! I can't believe this is my
first visit to a Disneyland park. We also went to California Adventure right
next door. We got to ride a lot of rides (which I never thought I would do!)
We used a book called The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland and it was invaluable.
We never had to wait more than 15 min or so for a ride and we were able to do a
switch rider for many of them, so Lawrence could ride while I walked with
Cameron and then I could get right on without waiting when he was done. I think
my favorite was probably Space Mountain. Cameron had a lot of fun in toontown,
exploring and playing, especially in the fountain. I'm already asking Lawrence
when we can go back. :-)

Build a Bear Workshop
We went to Build a Bear with a friend to make a
new furry friend. Cameron picked out a big fluffy dog to make. But the thing
he loved most was getting the stroller to push around his new creation. He even
got to name his new puppy friend and finally settled on
"cgggg".

Happy Halloween!
Here are some pics from our visit to the Pumpkin
Patch and of course Mr. Cameron in his Flounder costume (from Little Mermaid)
He had a great time trick or treating in our little culdesac. He took his shopping cart out with his Mickey Mouse bag attached to the front and wheeled it right up to the door. He would take the candy from the person and put it in the basket of the shopping cart, and then promptly turn around and he's off to the next place. No time for chit chat. LOL! Oh and if they offered him the bowl to pick from, he would take 2 pieces, one for each hand. :-)
